Vehicle Description

This well-maintained Austin-Healey Mark III is presented in Colorado Red with Black vinyl seats piped in gold. The 3000 has a 2912cc 2.9 Liter In-Line 6 cylinder that was rated at 150 bhp from the factory by a new higher lift camshaft versus previous models. Two SU HD8 carburetors are backed by the 4-speed transmission with Laycock-de-Normanville overdrive. Power-assisted braking became standard instead of optional. Matching Radial tires are 185/15 on all four corners mounted on 15 chrome 60 spoke wire knockoff wheels along with a 165/15 spare tire in the boot. The convertible top is black Stayfast canvas with the optional zipper rear window. Also included is a top boot cover in black canvas as well as a jack and knockoff hammer. Upholstery was now in Black Ambla vinyl with gold piping. The new car's fascia displayed it's 140MPH speedometer and tachometer directly in front of the driver. A combination oil pressure/ coolant temperature gauge is housed along side of the fuel gauge. Other equipment includes a windshield washer, heater, ashtray, locking glove box, custom elevated rearview mirror and an aftermarket 12V power supply. On the exterior, the BJ8 has chrome bumpers with overriders, a locking gas cap, drivers side fender mirror, passenger side fender mounted ariel and a chrome front badge bar with 5 fog lamps. The Mark III BJ8 remained in production until the end of 1967 when the manufacture of the Austin-Healey 3000 ceased. The factory stated that it could respectfully reach 0-60mph in 8.4 seconds. Its shows 71,141 miles on the 5-digit odometer at this time. The total miles are unknown. Please contact Kennith Stewart at 803-283-7289 for more information.
